State Law Does Not Protect You

Without a union contract, workers in your state have NO VOICE in their workplace! Your Employer determines your wages, insurance, holidays, vacations, sick leave, retirement, etc. without any input from you. In fact, without a union contract, your Employer can do just about anything they want to you and your co-workers!

Montana is the only state in the U.S. that is completely not at-will. All other states in the U.S. have some version of at-will employment. This means, in the absence of a written employment agreement or a collective bargaining agreement, an employment agreement is terminable at will by either the employer or the employee for any reason that is not contrary to law.

The good news is workers in America have the right to join together and form a union! The National Labor Relations Board, an agency of the federal government, protects your right to do so. Their website is www.nlrb.gov

So, if you don’t think having a union is important to you, just try getting your job back without one!
